Adrien Fourmaux has provided an explanation for the issue that hindered his chances of winning the World Rally Championship for the second consecutive event, expressing optimism for his future results.
Despite engaging in a tight battle for the rally lead with Sebastien Ogier at Rally Italy Sardinia, Fourmaux’s hopes of clinching his first WRC victory were dashed by a front left puncture during stage eight.
Following the tire change and an unexpected delay to allow Ogier to pass, Fourmaux experienced a significant time loss, emphasizing the string of misfortunes he has faced this season.
Reflecting on the challenging circumstances, Fourmaux remains hopeful, stating that luck will eventually be on his side notwithstanding the setbacks he has encountered.
Acknowledging his errors on stage nine, where he veered off the road due to dust interference, the French driver admitted to a lapse in focus but maintained his determination to bounce back from the disappointments.
